Hello, once again, our dearest readers. I’ve been trying to think of a clever way to pen this, but I think, instead, I will go with the cut-and-dry method, as the topic calls for it.
On the 22nd of April, Earth Day, as some might already be aware, there will be a March for Science, on the National Mall, in Washington DC.
This is one of our many chances to let our current administration know, we, as a people, will not stand for, the gutting of public education, scientific budget cuts, and censoring of scientific data, among a deep well of other concerns.
We would love to see you there, and certainly hope you can attend, to help effect progress. If by chance you are not able to make it to DC, we are aiming to bring the event to you.
In that, I have been asked to represent Scientific Literacy Matters, in this effort. Not only to walk in the march, but to report on it, as well.
Needless to say, I accepted the invitation. I look forward to representing our community, on Earth Day.
That being said, travel and lodging is not inexpensive these days. Which is why many may not be able to attend on their own accord.
As a non-profit organization, we are asking for your help to make this happen, for one or two of us, here at SLM, in the best, most efficient, way possible.
Therefore, we have created a GoFundMe campaign, in order that we may accept donations. If you would like to be a part of the march, but your physical presence is not probable, please help us represent you … or we’ll guilt trip the living crap out you.
Thank you beforehand!
