In short we founded SLM (Scientific Literacy Matters) to promote a more reasonable way of thinking in society. It’s been shown time, and time again, that most things ailing humanity comes from ignorance or misinformation. War, poverty, oppression; all things that stem from misconceptions.
The Deepest Hole Humans Have Ever Dug
You sometimes hear that we have gone further out into space than into the planet we live on. This is true! But just how far have dug? And how far do we still have to go to reach the center of the earth (where there surely are no dinosaurs).
We Still Need to Stand up for Science!
This is a friendly reminder that we still need to stand up for science! We attended the March for Science in Washington DC (read our coverage). It was a good way to bring the public’s eyes towards the issues that threaten to undermine science.
Is it possible to create black holes here on earth?
Brian Greene answers this interesting question in this video made for World Science U. “We usually think of black holes as gargantuan objects in space, but there’s a long-shot possibility that the Large Hadron Collider might produce a tiny black hole here on earth.
